Renee Wilkinson received her masters degree in landscape architecture from the University of Oregon. She works as a landscape designer in the Portland metro area helping clients transform their outdoor spaces.
Renee specializes in planting design, edible landscapes, nature-play spaces and sustainable landscape practices. She incorporates ecologically-sensitive design elements, such as native gardens, low-water plants and local building materials. She creates gardens that entice people to connect with nature, grow their own food and support native wildlife.
GARDEN DESIGN: Most recently Renee has been in design collaboration with Northwest Native Landscapes, a licensed landscape contractor offering design/build/maintenance services. This creates a seamless design/build process for home-owners from tiny urban lots to sprawling acreage on Sauvie Island.
NATURE PLAY: Renee worked with Learning Landscapes Design on several regional nature playground designs, including the Champoeg State Park Nature Playground, Sabin School Northside Playscape, and others. She deeply enjoys these legacy projects where children have the freedom to imagine, learn, and grow.
URBAN DESIGN: Occasionally Renee acts as a sub-consultant to various landscape architecture firms on individual projects. She offers her expertise on planting design, ecological design and other areas when it’s a good fit for both parties.
